- Did you always want to be a model? Tell us about how you were discovered.
I actually moved to LA for acting and went to drama school, so modeling wasn’t the original plan. In between acting jobs, I started getting approached for random freelance modeling gigs around LA and ended up working with brands like Paul Smith, randomly even appearing on the cover of Vogue Hong Kong.
After lockdown ended, I was approached by the Yeezy team at a bar and asked to work as their full-time fit model, which I did for about six months. Through that experience, I was introduced to Tom at Misfit Models. Since then, I’ve continued doing editorial and streetwear, but I definitely thrive most in darker, unconventional projects. That’s usually where I feel the most creative and at home.
Over the last few years, I’ve also done stunt and promo work for American Horror Story, which somehow led to me ending up on a bus next to Cara Delevingne and on a few billboards around the world. My acting and modeling worlds tend to overlap in weird ways, and I love that.
- What are your favorite forms of self care and why?
I’ve recently been super into the Korean spas here in LA. I love anything that lets me shut my brain off for a while and reset. But I think my biggest forms of self-care are actually pretty simple: reading, spending time alone, and making space to be creative without worrying about where it’s going to lead.
This past summer, I joined a local Shakespeare theater and started performing in Shakespeare just because it felt good to do. There was no career strategy behind it; I just wanted to play. I think taking the time to nurture my inner artist, without needing to monetize everything I create, is probably the most important form of self-care for me.
- What other passions do you have aside from modeling?
Gosh, I don’t even know where to start, but probably writing and directing. I’m a screenwriter at heart. I just finished writing my first feature film and then randomly went completely left field and wrote a comedy pilot that is actually getting made soon, which is crazy to say. I love acting and modeling and getting to be the muse inside someone else’s vision, but there’s something really fulfilling about being on the other side of it too, creating the world and bringing an idea to life from scratch. I like it all.
