- Did you always want to be a model? Tell us about how you were discovered.
No well I actually had an interesting relationship with modeling. I grew up in LA of course it was always around. I'm first generation American and my parents put me into modeling when I was younger like as a toddler. I was actually with the ford kids division at the time if I'm not mistaken so kind of a full circle moment. I grew to dislike modeling and asked my parents to stop. I eventually got back into it in high school signing with LA Models, until it started pulling me out of high school and I didn't quite see the return in it for me. Was a heavy burden on my parents to drive me around the city to castings and auditions as well so ultimately I stopped. it wasn't until after I dropped out of school with 6 months left to graduating college where I became fully determined to chase a dream in the entertainment and creative industry. I started taking acting classes at Playhouse West in LA multiple times a week, got myself a commercial agent and then finally I got offered an opportunity to go on Love Island USA season 4. Through all of this I started gaining a lot more confidence, making fashion content and then eventually making a move to Miami where I decided to enter the world of Modeling again. I signed with a mother agent and then it was actually at the last FaceCard event in Miami where I was discovered/scouted by FORD here in Miami. I was just coming to show love and support to David who I met on set at a shoot in LA, to FaceCard and to the creative community of Miami and I ended up on the books of an industry leading Modeling Agency.
- What are your favorite forms of self care and why?
Listening to music, long walks, bike rides at sunset or even at night, good food, a game of Catan, a good workout, a massage, a good haircut, creative connecting ideas. I consider self-care anything that allows me to either detach/disconnect from the fast paced high demand nature of the world. Something that allows me to tap into nature or to humanity or to my inner child. Places and activities that feel healing, inspire creativity and leave feeling truly relaxed, recharged or inspired.
- What other passions do you have aside from modeling?
I honestly spend most of my time behind the camera. Writing and directing campaigns. I work at the fast growing DTC clothing brand in history. Some people hate to identify with their jobs or feel like their job is their life, when in some ways I'm actually proud to say that. I am very very blessed to say that I love what I do, and I dropped out of college in pursuit of that feeling. Because I knew passion was important to me, mind you I also know what its like to starve and luckily working the other side of the camera serves the purpose of fueling my passions and putting food on my plate. I love creating so working together with a team to make larger scale creative projects together and seeing how that work translates in business, being seen viewed and guiding purchasing behavior and brand perception on the scale of millions per day is insane. For me it's all about world-building, and bringing people into place where the visuals make you feel something. In the end all I want to do, all that I am doing is making dope shit with cool people playing the game of business testing trying new things learning failing and growing along the way. Art, and the grind that comes with it. Happiness in the pursuit, not the pursuit of Happiness.
